Over 30,000 blankets
donated to children in
the Syracuse area.
Project Linus was started in 1995 and has distributed over 5 million blankets Nationally to children in need. The Onondaga / Oswego NY chapter was started in 2000. Since we started we have delivered over 25,000 blankets to children in need. Our chapter donates blankets to the local area hospitals including Upstate and Galisano and Hutchings. We also serve Hospice of CNY, Hope for the Bereaved, Vera House and New Hope Family Services and the Kara Foundation., Sleep in Heavenly Peace.
We make homemade blankets for children in need. The blankets go to children in the hospital or in crisis and need a hug to let them know someone is thinking about them.
The blankets often help the children to get through medical tests, comfort them when they are alone, and help make transitions in their life easier by having something that is all their own.
If you crochet, knit, quilt or can create fleece tie blankets, and want to help a child in need, please think about joining us.
